BRITE Energy Innovators

100% Deductibility of Cash Charitable Contributions in 2020

Support Empowering Energy-Tech Founders

BRITE is the State of Ohio’s only energy incubator and we like to say that we give unfair advantages for early-stage energy founders to be successful. We do that in a couple of ways, through business development mentorship, technical expertise in our lab, and through connecting these founders with our ever-growing network.

In 2019, BRITE through its clients and partners created 192 jobs, generated $21 million in revenue and attracted $78 million in investment. Our small team was also able to double the number of energy-tech startups served and increased our media engagement five-fold. We’re excited to share with you our 2021 metrics very soon. Despite the pandemic, our 2021 outcomes are extremely impressive and demonstrate the need for BRITE’s services.

As the year winds down, we ask you to consider becoming part of our BRITE People campaign. A unique feature this year with the CARES Act is that cash charitable contributions can be deducted up to 100% of adjusted gross income (AGI). Additionally, taxpayers do not have to itemize charitable deductions of up to $300 in cash contributions made in 2020 to qualifying organizations, like BRITE. For more information, please check out annual fund, BRITE People

The Tech Belt Energy Innovation Center is doing business as BRITE Energy Innovators. Charitable contributions can be linked to BRITE’s EIN under the Tech Belt Energy Innovation Center – 27-2660738.
