Entrepreneurs, Regulators and Startups Gather to Discuss Growth
BRITE Energy Innovators successfully launched its statewide awareness campaign on Wednesday, February 19 at Tesla Motors’ Gallery in the Easton Center in Columbus, OH. During ON THE ROAD, more than 100 of the region’s energy industry leader’s tech entrepreneurs, regulators, financiers, philanthropists, and countless community and business leaders exchanged ideas and explored member companies’ technology. An elegant reception was provided by AVI Foodsystems.
Presenting at the event were startups from BRITE’s portfolio, showcasing the technological advances they have been able to make while receiving entrepreneurial support from BRITE. The keynote was given by Youngstown State University President and lead “Voltage Valley” Advocate Jim Tressel.
BRITE is an integral part of the emerging “Voltage Valley” — an ambitious plan to become a research and production hub for electric vehicles and carve out a new economy for itself by mixing its industrial past with emerging technology stretching from Cleveland to Pittsburgh, the heart of the Mahoning valley.
“Wow, such energy. Ohio’s energy technology is advancing fast. BRITE is honored to facilitate connections up/down the value chain and serve our entrepreneurs to community success,” said Jeff Rockwood, BRITE Energy Incubators Vice President of Tech Acceleration. He explained the purpose of the event was to “bring to light the exciting momentum underway in energy tech, and to invite others to help bridge silos of innovation and better help entrepreneurs access the full value chain where and when the need it.”
Future ON THE ROAD events are being planned for Cincinnati, Toledo and Cleveland with the similar intention of spreading BRITE’s mission to support energy tech, connect entrepreneurs with industry players and key funders. Underwriting opportunities and sponsorships are available. For more information call BRITE’s Daniel Sylak at 330-395-3500.
