POSITION TITLE: Marketing & Communications Manager




POSITIONS SUPERVISED (TITLES): Specialists, Interns and Contractors

Salary: $50,000-$70,000, Director Title and Compensation of up to $90,000 Negotiable with Experience

Marketing & Communications Manager Summary

The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for marketing and communicating BRITE’s mission by building organizational awareness, increasing avenues for fundraising and driving members and customers to service offerings, which include the Entrepreneur Program, lab services and contracted innovation services.

Duties of the Position

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee marketing strategies for incubator, programs and associated stakeholders
    • Construct and implement marketing plan and key performance indicators for outreach for organizational awareness, fundraising/annual campaigning and service offerings
    • Manage relevant contracts
  • Maintain standard marketing and public relations processes
    • Serve as the organization’s public representative
    • Create and manage BRITE social media profiles, website and collaterol including graphics and videos
    • Design and implement information campaigns on BRITE’s mission, its members and services
    • Write and issue press releases
    • Recommend media buys and sponsorships
  • Participate in Entrepreneur Program activities by providing feedback and best practices to members through office hours and workshops
  • Collaborate with other initiatives at BRITE

Position Requirements

  • This person must have a give-first mentality and passion for emerging energy technologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field required and master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years marketing and communications or complimentary experience. Minimum of seven years marketing and communications and two years management experience for Director
  • Nonprofit fundraising experience preferred.
  • Fluent in Adobe Suite
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and data management (CRM) required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including graphic communication.
  • Capable of working with internal and external teams and partners.
  • Ability to multi-task, independently learn and problem-solve and work in complex environments
  • Ohio based candidate preferred with the option to work remote and travel in Ohio
