Battery Testing

The BRITE Energy Labs support extensive battery and other DC device testing with multi-channel measurement equipment ranging from milliamps to hundreds of volts and amps. This allows testing of small button cells and batteries like those used in IoT devices, and small controllers, to large batteries and battery banks used in forklift, EV, and storage applications. Our equipment is completely programmable, allowing researchers to fully automate the testing and data collection process. This allows batteries to be repeatedly cycled from charge to discharge so that accelerated life cycle deterioration characteristics can developed under conditions that mimic actual service conditions. This information can be used to prevent situations that lead to battery burnout or potentially hazardous conditions.
