BRITE points to exceptional growth in 2021 Annual Report Empowering more than 50 founders to launch and scale energy tech solutions

Warren, OH – BRITE Energy Innovators today released its 2021 Annual Report, giving a  snapshot of the energy tech incubator’s efforts to spur stronger and more inclusive growth. In 2021, BRITE highlights include working with 51 startup clients to help them raise more than  $28 million in revenue, employing nearly 300 full-time employees and an additional 100+  contractors, with the average annual salary more than $114,000.

The report showcases client successes, including awards from the U.S. Department of Energy,  generation of federal funds, strategic alliances with major metropolitan areas, and a client  selected as a national Startup of the Year finalist. The overview also shares the exciting news as  one client moves to Ohio while another expands in the Mahoning Valley.

“Over 2021, we saw tremendous growth,” said Rick Stockburger, BRITE’s CEO. “We met with President Joe Biden, launched our youth outreach program on emerging energy technologies  and careers, saw a major player move here to Ohio instead of the west coast, and improved our  visibility while expanding our team.”

Sara Daugherty, Director of Partnerships, adds that they would not be able to do the work they  do without the critical relationships they have built with organizations across the state of Ohio.  “It truly is a team effort. Every time a founder reaches a new milestone, creates a new product,  or attracts a new investor, we know that means more future jobs and continued growth for the Voltage Valley and that is the core reason for our existence.”
