Startup Program Manager
Lucas King
As the Startup Program Manager at BRITE, Lucas is responsible for ensuring early-stage energy technology companies are prepared to move forward with creating long-term sustainable businesses. Lucas is a graduate of Washington and Lee University, where he studied Business Administration and Chinese. During his collegiate experience, he also engaged in multiple opportunities to help prepare himself for a career in entrepreneurship.
That experience included serving as Director of Corporate Affairs for Our National Conversation, an early-stage political media startup with the mission of increasing the American public’s access to a constructive political discourse platform. He built sustainable business practices which took the form of clarifying transition procedures and materials as well as working on overall strategic planning. Developing an internal business structure helped increase employee retention and satisfaction as Our National Conversation worked towards its goals.
Lucas also worked with multiple non-profits, serving as a Project Management Intern with Rockbridge Area Habitat for Humanity helping to build a connected community in Rockbridge, Virginia. Alongside that, Lucas engaged in a political affairs internship with The Borgen Project, a non-profit dedicated to bringing global poverty reduction policies to the forefront of American politics.
Lucas is an Ohio native committed to developing the energy technology entrepreneurial ecosystem within Ohio and the Midwest.
