BRITE member Vroom Solar, Inc., has been recognized with a significant AFWERX grant for its groundbreaking Smart Solar Management technology, aimed at modernizing solar energy management for the Department of the Air Force (DAF). This initiative is a part of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, a collaborative effort by the Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX to enhance the small business experience, making proposal submission and contract execution more efficient while expanding the innovation funding pool since its Open Topic SBIR/STTR program initiation in 2018. Starting May 10, 2024, Vroom Solar’s project will embark on delivering innovative capabilities to bolster the United States’ national defense. CEO Luke Phelps expressed pride in contributing to national security improvements through their solar management technology.
